About the Co-op

The Building

This attractive, gray-brick, 16-story hi-rise doorman apartment building was erected in [1959]. It is a cooperative and has 148 units.  The building has a one-story black granite base with a white marble entrance surround. The canopied entrance has spiked sidewalk landscaping.  The building has numerous spacious studio, 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments.

This neighborhood is very convenient to the Midtown office district and there are many restaurants and stores in the area.  As New York's largest central business district, Midtown Manhattan is indisputably the busiest single commercial district in the United States, and among the most intensely and diversely used pieces of real estate in the world. The great majority of New York City's skyscrapers, including its tallest hotels and apartment towers, lie within Midtown. More than 700,000 commuters work in its offices, hotels, and retail establishments; the area also hosts many tourists, visiting residents, and students.

There is excellent cross-town bus service on 57th Street and there are two subway stations right nearby (one three blocks north at Bloomingdale's and one three blocks south at 53rd Street).
